The Chord Symbol
widget display the currently played chord and offers extensive customization options.
Settings
Naming Style
Select a chord naming convention from the available presets:
Regular
: descriptive naming style.Concise
: more concise naming style (default).RealBook
: similar to the style found in the” RealBook” series.Aebersold
: similar to the style found in Jamey Aebersold’s jazz books. In this style, extensions are usually simplified (e.g., Gm7(9,11) becomes Gm11) or ommited.Brazilian
: naming style used in Brazil.

Extensions Style
Sets how chord extensions are labeled.
Show Alternate Names
Display alternative names for the chord.
Use Δ7 for Major Seventh Chords
Displays the delta symbol (Δ) for Maj7
chords, following Jazz conventions. When enblaed, a chord like C7M(9)
will appear as CΔ7(9)
.
Ommit Extensions Beyond the Seventh
Hides chord extensions beyond the seventh. When enabled, chords such as C7(13)
, C7(9)
, C7(9/13)
will all be displayed as C7
.
Ommit Inversions
Ignores chord inversions. When turned on, chord such as C
, C/E
and C/G
will be displayed simply as C.
Font
Choose the font for chord display.
Shortcuts
Common shortcuts (shared across all widgets)
Ctrl + C
: Clones the widget, creating a new instance with the same settings.Ctrl + Left Click
: Opens the contextual menu for front/back ordering, background transparency, and widget linking options.
