Piano Widget

The Piano widget visually represents MIDI input on a virtual keyboard. By default, it spans five octaves, but you can quickly switch between different sizes by Double Clicking while hovering or using the Ctrl + Mouse Wheel Up/Down shortcut.

Settings

Highlight Recently Played Keys

This setting adds a temporary glow effect to visually emphasize recently played keys.

Dynamics as colors

Maps MIDI velocities (dynamics) to colors. When enabled, your selected color will snap to the nearest pure color, enhancing the clarity of dynamic gradations.

Decay Simulation

Turns on decay simulation for MIDI input.

Show Note Names

Displays note names in small or large text.

Split RH/LH Colors

Assigns separate colors to right-hand and left-hand notes, determined by a split point.

Keyboard Size

Adjusts the number of keys. Can be changed using the Double Click or Ctrl + Mouse Wheel shortcuts.

Keyboard Type

Switch between piano or harpsichord.

Shortcuts

  • Double-click: switch between different piano sizes.
  • Ctrl + Mouse Wheel Up/Down: Increase or decrease the number of keys.
Common shortcuts (shared across all widgets)
  • Ctrl + C: Clones the widget, creating a new instance with the same settings.
  • Ctrl + Left Click: Opens the contextual menu for front/back ordering, background transparency, and widget linking options.
