Temperament Widget

The Temperament widget allows you to visualize and modify the current temperament. At the moment, only the internal playback (sounds generated within MidiStickers) will be affected.

There are two ways to view/edit the temperament: Line view or Circle of Fifths view. In both modes, you can adjust the temperament by dragging any of the pitches. Blue circles represent fixed 12edo (equal temperament) pitches. You can also edit any pitch by Double-Clicking, which opens a dialog for precise tuning.

In the Circle of Fifths view, you can also visualize the size of specific fifth intervals to better understand deviations from equal or pure fifths.

Settings

Temperament

Select a temperament from preset historical tunings.

View Mode

Switch between Line view and Circle of Fifths view.

Show Fifths

When enabled, additional information about fifth intervals will be displayed.

Draw Intervals

When enabled, lines will be drawn between the currently played intervals.

Shortcuts

  • Double Click (while hovering over any pitch): Set the tuning for a specific pitch.
Common shortcuts (shared across all widgets)
  • Ctrl + Left Click: Opens the contextual menu for front/back ordering, background transparency, and widget linking options.
