Settings Window

The settings window allows you to configure general settings of the application, manage Audio/MIDI settings and handle Licenses.

General Settings

Refresh Rate

By default, MidiStickers will update your screen 60 times per second for smooth responsiveness. However, you can lower the refresh to 30 frames per second for better performance on older hardware - especially in demanding situations such as video capturing, streaming, or video conferecing, where your GPU is shared with other resource-intensive software.

Language:

Sets the application language. A restart is required for the changes to take full effect.

Toolbar Size

Adjust the scale of the toolbar.

Window/UI Size

Adjusts the scale of menus and windows so you can best match your current screen size and DPI settings.

Chord Detection: Immediate vs Hold Last Chord

Chord detection mode affects how chords are detected and displayed in various widgets:

  • Immediate is the default detection mode, where the chord always reflects the currently played notes (if any).
  • Hold Last Chord retains the last detected chord when no new chords are played, providing continous chord display - useful for visualizing complex MIDI inputs.

For a more stable chord display, you can combine Hold Last Chord with specific chord symbols settings that reduce information, such as “ommit extensions beyond the seventh*” and ignore inversions settings.

Audio/MIDI Settings

Play MIDI Input

Controls whether MIDI input will be played through the internal synthesizer.

Latency

Adjusts the internal synthesizer’s latency. Currently, the Windows version of MidiStickers does not support ASIO drivers, which may result in higher-than-expected latency. For minimal latency, it’s best to route MIDI input directly to your DAW or plugin host using the Send MIDI IN to MIDI Out option.

Volume

Sets the internal synthesizer’s volume when playing MIDI Input.

MIDI Inputs

Enable or disable specific MIDI Input Devices.

Send MIDI IN to MIDI Out

Routes MIDI Input to a MIDI Output. On Windows, this is best done using a Virtual MIDI Cable software such as LoopMidi. For more details, see the Integrating Midistickers with other software guide.

License Management

This tab displays your current license information, including the expiration date (if applicable). To transfer your MidiStickers license to another device, use the Manage Licenses button. This process is handled through the Moonbase portal.
