From the settings window, you can access general settings of the application, including MIDI Input.

Refresh Rate

By default, MidiStickers will update your screen 60 times per second, resulting in a very smooth responsiveness. However, if you are using old hardware or is facing GPU stress during use (especially when capturing video or using alongside other demanding software), you might want to experiment using the 30 frames per second time, which will be less demanding while still providing a good experience.

Chord Detection: Immediate vs Hold Last Chord

Chord detection mode affects the display of Chord Symbols.

Immediate” is the usual chord detection mode, meaning it will always reflect the currently played chord. “Hold Last Chord” will retain the last valid chord when there are no chords played, giving a more continous experience which might be useful when visualizing complex MIDI inputs. For an even smoother experience, you can combine Hold Last Chord with specific chord symbol settings that reduce the ammount of information (ie, the “ommit extensions beyond the seventh” and/or ignore inversions settings).
